Kuming, the capital of Yunnan Province, has been at the center of these historical ties. During our visit to Kunming, we discovered a surprising affinity for India among the local people. This is no coincidence—centuries-old trade ties linked Kunming to India, fostering cultural and commercial exchanges that continue to this day.

Today, Kunming is a bustling metropolis with over 6.5 million residents. Located between the Yunnan and Guizhou plateaus, the city is known for its artistic temples, lush landscapes, and rich cultural heritage. Even in contemporary times, Indian businessmen visit Kunming, continuing the centuries-old commercial ties between the two countries.
